Honorably discharged Nebraska resident veterans get a free one-day hunt permit, habitat stamp and Nebraska Migratory Waterfowl Stamp to hunt on Veterans Day. Nebraska also runs a bonus waterfowl weekend open to resident and nonresident veterans, with the same daily bag and possession limits and shooting hours as the regular duck, merganser, coot and goose season. Veterans and active duty service members do not need a vehicle park entry permit at Nebraska state park properties during that special season.
Get your permit through the Nebraska Game and Parks permit system or at any Game and Parks office. Set your veteran status in your customer profile in the permit system, or carry proof of veteran status while you hunt.
Veteran status in your Game and Parks customer profile, or a state driver's license noting veteran status, a Department of Defense ID, another government-issued military or VA ID card, or a copy of your DD214 or DD215. You also need a Federal Duck Stamp, a Harvest Information Program number, and Nebraska waterfowl and habitat stamps unless you are exempt.
