No-cost employment services with priority of service

The Nebraska Department of Labor gives you career assessment and counseling, help with resumes, cover letters and interviewing, job placement assistance and referrals, job search workshops, labor market information, information on careers, training, education and financial aid, support service referrals, and computers with internet access plus help using them. You also get priority of service, which means you get a program or service earlier than, or instead of, someone who is not eligible.

Visit a Nebraska Job Center, use the Nebraska Department of Labor online contact page and select the Email Us tab, or email NDOL.VeteranServices@nebraska.gov.

What you'll need

Your DD214 to establish veteran status and priority of service, or documentation of the veteran’s disability or death if you are an eligible spouse.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or you are the spouse of a veteran who has a total service-connected disability or who died as a result of a service-connected disability
  • You are looking for work or training help in Nebraska
