Up to $350 toward pet adoption fees, once per veteran

Nebraska will pay up to $350 of your pet adoption fees, once. The animal has to come from a shelter or rescue licensed by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.

How to apply

Register on the Nebraska Veterans' Registry, then submit a Vets Get Pets Application with the shelter or rescue section completed, through the NDVA confidential document submission page choosing Vets Get Pets in the Program section. Once you are approved you have two weeks to finalize the adoption. For help call 402-471-2458 or email ndva@nebraska.gov.

Your registration on the Nebraska Veterans' Registry, and the shelter or rescue portion of the application completed by the shelter.

You are adopting from a shelter or rescue licensed by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture
You have not had adoption fees paid by this program before
