Nevada Tuition Waiver for Medal of Honor Recipients and their Children

Nevada System of Higher Education, through each state college and university
Tuition, lab and other associated fees waived

Tuition, lab fees and other associated fees are waived at Nevada state supported colleges and universities for Medal of Honor recipients and their children. A child can use the waiver for 10 years after turning 18, or for 10 years from enrollment if they enroll before 18.

Contact the Nevada state college or university you plan to attend and ask its veterans services office how to claim the waiver.

What you'll need

Documentation that the Medal of Honor was awarded. A child also needs proof of graduation from a Nevada high school and proof of the veteran parent’s Nevada residency.

Eligibility

  • You are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces who was awarded the Medal of Honor, or the child of one
  • You are enrolled in a program leading to a certificate, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or professional degree
  • You have used all available federal tuition assistance first
  • If you are the child of an eligible veteran, you graduated from a Nevada high school and your veteran parent is a Nevada resident or was one at the time of death
  • If you are the child of an eligible veteran, you are inside 10 years of turning 18, or 10 years of enrolling if you enrolled before 18
