You pay no fee for a New Hampshire driver license if you are an amputee or paraplegic who received a specially adapted vehicle from the VA, or if you have a total and permanent service-connected disability rating from the VA.

Ask for the disabled veteran fee exemption at any New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles location when you apply for or renew your license.

What you'll need

Your VA rating letter showing a total and permanent service-connected rating, or your VA documentation for the specially adapted vehicle, plus your DD214.

Eligibility

  • You are applying for or renewing a New Hampshire driver license
  • You are an amputee or paraplegic who received a specially adapted vehicle from the VA, or you have a total and permanent service-connected disability rating from the VA
