You can get one New Hampshire Disabled Veteran license plate at no charge if you were honorably discharged and have a total and permanent service-connected disability rating, are totally blind from a service-connected cause, or are a service-connected amputee or paraplegic who received federal funds for a specially adapted vehicle.

How to apply

Apply at a Division of Motor Vehicles office or a town or city clerk's office that processes vehicle registrations, with your VA documentation and discharge paperwork.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge, and your VA rating letter or documentation of blindness, amputation or paraplegia and the federally funded adapted vehicle.

Eligibility

  • You are registering a vehicle in New Hampshire
  • You received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You have a service-connected total and permanent disability rating from the VA, you are totally blind because of a service-connected cause, or you are an amputee or paraplegic because of a service-connected cause and received federal funds for a specially adapted vehicle
