New Hampshire Gold Star License Plate

The mother or stepmother of a service member killed while serving on active duty can get a New Hampshire Gold Star license plate. There is no number plate fee, though the regular registration fees still apply.

Apply at a Division of Motor Vehicles office or a town or city clerk's office that processes vehicle registrations, with the casualty paperwork for the service member.

What you'll need

The service member's DD1300 Report of Casualty or death certificate, and proof that you are their mother or stepmother.

Eligibility

  • You are registering a vehicle in New Hampshire
  • You are the mother or stepmother of a service member who was killed while serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces
