Combining the plans gives you over $1,000,000 of coverage available, with cover for your spouse and children, protection 24 hours a day all year, and no war or aviation exclusions. New members get $10,000 of coverage at no cost for their first year of service if they enroll within 180 days of joining. You can keep the coverage after you separate from the Guard, and your rate will not go up.
