New Jersey Veterans Memorial Homes

Long-term nursing care at three state homes with 948 beds in total

New Jersey runs three Veterans Memorial Homes providing long-term care to veterans and their eligible family members: Paramus, a 336-bed facility at 1 Veterans Drive, Paramus; Menlo Park, a 312-bed facility at 132 Evergreen Road, Edison; and Vineland, a 300-bed facility at 524 North West Boulevard, Vineland. They provide around-the-clock medical and nursing care from full-time physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and trained nursing assistants, plus occupational, physical and speech therapy and recreational activities supervised by licensed therapists. Applicants who have been New Jersey residents for at least two years before applying are given preference, but residency is not a condition of eligibility.

How to apply

Submit the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs application for admission to the home you want. Admissions numbers are 201-634-8435 for Paramus, 732-452-4272 for Menlo Park and 856-405-4217 for Vineland.

What you'll need

The veteran’s DD214 or other proof of an honorable discharge, proof of your relationship to the veteran if you are a spouse, surviving spouse or Gold Star parent, and the medical documentation listed on the application.

Eligibility

  • You are an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, the spouse or surviving spouse of an eligible veteran, or the Gold Star parent of a service member killed in action during a wartime period
  • You are applying for admission to one of the three New Jersey Veterans Memorial Homes
