New Jersey Veterans Transitional Housing Program at Veteran’s Haven

New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DVA)
State-operated transitional housing with clinical and vocational rehabilitation

Veteran’s Haven North in Glen Gardner and Veteran’s Haven South in Winslow Township are state-run transitional housing facilities for homeless veterans. Both offer three programs: Bridge Housing, a short stay averaging 90 days if you have accepted a permanent housing placement you cannot move into yet; Clinical Treatment, transitional housing alongside clinical services; and Service Intensive Transitional Housing, housing with intensive services to stabilise you, raise your income and move you into permanent housing. You have to agree to a long-term program covering psychological, social and vocational rehabilitation, and to stay sober while enrolled. Drug and alcohol testing is random and continuous, and anyone who fails is placed in an Intensive Outpatient Program.
