New Jersey War Orphans Tuition Assistance

New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DVA)
$500 per year for four years

You can receive $500 a year for four years of college or equivalent training if your parent died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, died from a service-connected disability, or was declared missing in action.

What you'll need

Documentation of your parent’s death in service, death from a service-connected disability, or missing in action status, proof of your relationship to them, proof your parent was a New Jersey resident, and proof you have lived in New Jersey for at least a year.

Eligibility

  • You are the child of a service member who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, died as a result of a service-connected disability, or was declared missing in action
  • You have been a New Jersey resident for at least one year immediately before you apply
  • You are between the ages of 16 and 21
  • Your veteran parent was a New Jersey resident
