New Mexico issues the Special MacArthur Service Medal to members of the 200th and 515th Coast Artillery who were New Mexico residents when they first entered the U.S. military and who served under General Douglas MacArthur in the Philippine Islands during World War II. Surviving family members of those units may also receive the medal.
Contact the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services through the state benefits page and ask for the Special MacArthur Service Medal. Have the veteran’s service records for the 200th or 515th Coast Artillery ready.
Proof of service in the 200th or 515th Coast Artillery in the Philippine Islands during World War II, and proof the veteran was a New Mexico resident at original entry. Surviving family members need proof of that relationship.
