New York National Guard Medical Coverage and Compensation for Injury on State Active Duty

New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs
Required medical care covered, plus military pay for up to 90 days

If you are a New York National Guard member who becomes ill, injured or disabled in the line of duty while on state active duty, the state covers your required medical care and keeps paying you until you can return to your usual occupation, for up to 90 days. The pay matches an active duty service member of the same pay grade and length of service. Nothing is paid where similar benefits are provided under federal law or regulation.
