How to apply

Apply for certification online through the Service-Disabled Veterans’ Enterprise System. New users create an account at the NY.GOV ID webpage first. For help, call the Division of Service-Disabled Veterans’ Business Development at 518-474-2015 or email veteransdevelopment@ogs.ny.gov.

What you'll need

Your VA documentation showing a service-connected disability rating of at least 10 percent, proof that you own at least 51 percent of the business and control its day-to-day decisions, and documentation that the business is a small business with a significant presence in New York.

Eligibility

  • You are a veteran with a service-connected disability rating of at least 10 percent
  • You and any other service-disabled veteran owners own at least 51 percent of the business
  • Your business’s day-to-day decisions are controlled by the service-disabled veteran owners
  • Your business qualifies as a small business in New York State
  • Your business maintains a significant business presence in New York State
