Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund of North Carolina, a non-profit supporting the North Carolina National Guard
Emergency grants, with military pay issues capped at $500

Emergency grants are available to North Carolina National Guard members when no other resources are available. They cover payments to avoid eviction or foreclosure, utilities facing disconnection, food assistance, medical emergencies, loss of a home or belongings to fire or natural disaster, loss of employment, short-term housing, and military pay problems up to $500.

Contact your chain of command, your nearest Family Assistance Center, or the SAAF office on 919-851-3390 extension 3 or at ncngsaaf@bellsouth.net.

What you'll need

Proof of your Guard membership and good standing, and documentation of the emergency such as an eviction notice, a disconnection notice or a repair estimate.

Eligibility

  • You are currently serving in the North Carolina National Guard, or you are the spouse of a deployed North Carolina National Guard service member
  • You have completed basic training
  • You are in good standing with your unit with no adverse actions
  • You have no other resources available for the emergency
