Free Recording of Discharge Documents for North Dakota Veterans

Free recording and free certified copies of your discharge

Your county recorder will record your discharge documents, such as your DD214, free of charge. Free certified copies of a recorded discharge go to you, your parents, your next of kin, your legal representative, a county veteran service officer, a veterans organization service officer, the Department of Veterans Affairs, or anyone you designate.

Take your discharge paperwork to your county recorder’s office, or to the official your county designates, and ask to have it recorded.
