Apply for residency classification through the admissions or registrar office at the North Dakota state supported school you attend, and give them your service or family documentation.

What you'll need

Your military orders or DD214, and for a family claim the veteran’s DD214 plus proof of your relationship and of the veteran’s North Dakota residency.

Eligibility

  • You are enrolled at or applying to a North Dakota state supported school
  • You are a full time active duty service member, a North Dakota National Guard member, a Reserve member stationed in North Dakota, a North Dakota resident veteran who served 180 days of continuous active duty or the full period called to active duty other than for training and was discharged under other than dishonorable conditions, the spouse or dependent of one of those service members, or the child, spouse or surviving spouse of a resident veteran who was killed in action, died of wounds or other service-connected causes, was totally disabled from service-connected causes, or was a prisoner of war or missing in action
