The state veterans home in Lisbon offers two levels of long term care to veterans and their spouses: a 98-bed basic care unit for residents who need only minimal nursing services, and a 52-bed skilled care unit for those who need more intensive nursing. Nursing staff are on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and services include physical, occupational and speech therapy, an on-site pharmacy for veterans, transportation to the Fargo VA Medical Center and local appointments, social work and counseling, a 13-bed memory care unit, wound care, therapeutic recreation, chaplain services, palliative and hospice care, a barber and beauty shop, dietary services, mental health services, laundry, a therapeutic work program, financial services and veteran service officer assistance.
