You can claim temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own or your hours are cut. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work, is not based on financial need, and is paid for entirely by employers. What you receive depends on how much you worked and earned in the 12 months before you file.
File a claim on Job Service North Dakota's UI ICE website, or through the automated phone system at 701-328-4995. Both are available seven days a week except between 10 p.m. and midnight, Monday through Friday.
Your Social Security number, a government issued ID, your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen, a valid email address, your employment history for the past 18 months with each employer’s name, address, phone number and employment dates, your reason for leaving, your final workday, details of any severance or pension pay, your union name, address and hall number if that applies, your DD214 Member Copy 4 if you served in the past 18 months, an SF-50 or SF-8 if you were a federal employee in the past 18 months, and your most recent pay stub if you have it.
