Ohio Concealed Carry License Exemption for Active Duty Service Members

If you are on active duty and have documentation that you completed firearms training meeting or exceeding what Ohio requires for a license, you do not need an Ohio concealed handgun license. You must carry proof of that training and a valid military ID whenever you carry.

  • You are serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You have documentation that you completed firearms training meeting or exceeding Ohio licensing requirements
  • You carry that documentation and a valid military ID when you carry a concealed handgun
