You can get a free five-year Ohio hunting and fishing license. It covers the fishing license, hunting license, fur taker permit, deer permit, wild turkey permit and wetlands habitat stamp, or any combination of them.

Send the completed application by mail, email or fax to the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, 1240 East Ninth Street, Room 1357, Cleveland, Ohio 44199-2001, email liaisonoffice@dvs.ohio.gov, fax 216-622-4844. For questions, call 800-945-3543 or email wildinfo@dnr.ohio.gov.

What you'll need

Proof you have been an Ohio resident for the last six months, your DD214 showing an honorable discharge, and your VA rating or pension letter, your Ohio Disabled Veteran license plate registration, or your prisoner of war documentation.

Eligibility

  • You have been an Ohio resident for the last six months
  • You received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You are rated by the VA as 100 percent permanently and totally disabled, you receive a pension or compensation from the VA, you have an Ohio Disabled Veteran license plate, or you were a prisoner of war
