How to apply

Tell the admissions or residency office of the Ohio public college you are applying to that you are claiming the Ohio GI Promise, and give them your discharge paperwork.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge or medical separation after at least one year of service. Dependents also need proof of their relationship and documentation of the veteran’s casualty status and Ohio domicile.

Eligibility

  • You are enrolling at an Ohio public college or university
  • You were honorably discharged or medically separated from the U.S. Armed Forces after at least one year of service
  • If you are claiming as a dependent rather than as the veteran, the veteran was killed in action, declared missing in action or held as a prisoner of war, and is domiciled in Ohio as of your first day of enrollment
