If you are the caregiver of a disabled veteran, you can get financial help with tuition, fees and books at public and independent colleges and universities in Ohio. Each participating school sets its own award amount.

Contact the financial aid office at the Ohio college you plan to attend and ask about the Hidden Heroes Scholarship.

What you'll need

Proof that you are enrolled in the VA Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers, the veteran’s VA rating letter showing a 100 percent service-connected rating, proof of Ohio residency, and confirmation that you are not in default on federal student loans.

Eligibility

You are an Ohio resident
You are enrolled in the VA Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers
You provide care to a veteran who has a 100 percent service-connected disability rating
You are not in default on any federal student loan
