Every Ohio National Guard member is covered for $1,000 at no cost through the Ohio National Guard Association, and you can buy more coverage for yourself, your spouse and your children. It pays out on death from any cause, covers you 24 hours a day all year with no war, aviation, hazardous duty or civilian occupation restrictions, and you can keep it at the same rates after you separate. If you joined the Ohio National Guard within the last year you can get $10,000 of coverage free for a year, as long as you enrol during your first year of service.
