Oklahoma State Veterans Homes

Long term nursing, memory and domiciliary care; full cost of care covered at a 70 percent or higher rating

Oklahoma runs seven veterans homes providing intermediate nursing care, skilled nursing care, memory care and domiciliary care for veterans and their spouses, in Ardmore (175 beds), Claremore (302 beds), Clinton (148 beds), Lawton (200 beds), Norman (301 beds), Sulphur (122 beds) and Sallisaw (179 beds). Services include laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, rehabilitation and recreational therapies, dietary services, Alzheimer's and dementia care, and social and recreational activities. If you have a service-connected disability rating of 70 percent or more, your full cost of care is covered at any Oklahoma veterans home.

Call 405-523-4092 for admission information for any of the seven homes, or contact the home you want directly.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or discharge paperwork, medical documentation showing you need nursing care, and your VA eligibility information. A spouse or surviving spouse also needs a marriage certificate.

Eligibility

  • You served in the U.S. Armed Forces for at least 90 days with one or more days on active duty, you were discharged before 90 days because of a service-connected disability, or you are the spouse or surviving spouse of an eligible veteran
  • You received a discharge other than dishonorable
  • You require nursing care
  • You are eligible for the VA State Home Per Diem
