Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs Conservatorship Services

Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA)
State-provided conservator to manage a protected person’s financial affairs

ODVA can be appointed as conservator for a veteran or a veteran’s surviving spouse, minor children, helpless adult children or dependent parents. A conservator takes on full responsibility for the protected person’s estate: setting a personal budget that pays for care, personal needs, dependent support and property upkeep, applying for every benefit the protected person may be entitled to, and investing or conserving unused funds. ODVA conservators are experts in VA law and work closely with family members.
