Oregon High School Diploma for Wartime Veterans

High school diploma awarded

You can be awarded a high school diploma if you left high school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. You can request it from the school district where you live now or the district you would have graduated from, and a diploma can be awarded after a veteran’s death.

Contact the school district where you live now, or the district you would have graduated from, and ask for a wartime veteran diploma. The Oregon School Directory lists district contacts.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge and the qualifying period of service or presence, and proof that you live in Oregon.

Eligibility

  • You are an Oregon resident veteran
  • You left high school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You received an honorable discharge
  • You served during World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict or the Vietnam War, or you were physically present during Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada, Operation Just Cause in Panama, Operations Desert Shield or Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq, or in an area designated as a combat zone by the President
