Oregon Veterans Bridge Grant

Grant of up to $5,000

The Veteran Educational Bridge Grant pays up to $5,000 to help you finish your degree. It is meant for student veterans who cannot complete an Oregon based, VA approved academic program on time because a required class is not being offered, or because a debt on their student account is blocking registration.

How to apply

Complete the ODVA Veteran Educational Bridge Grant application and send it with the documentation listed on it through the ODVA secure upload page. For help, call 503-400-0540.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge, proof of Oregon residency, your school enrollment and program information, and documentation of the unavailable class or the student account debt.

Eligibility

  • You are an Oregon resident veteran who served on active duty other than for training and received an honorable discharge
  • You served more than 90 consecutive days beginning on or before January 31, 1955, served more than 178 consecutive days, served less than 178 days and have a service-connected disability rating from the VA, served at least one day in a combat zone, received a combat or campaign ribbon or an expeditionary medal, or receive a non-service-connected disability pension from the VA
  • You are enrolled in an Oregon based, VA approved academic program
  • You cannot complete your program on time because a required class is unavailable or a debt on your student account prevents registration
