Oregon Veterans and Service Members Waterfowl Hunt Day

A designated waterfowl hunting day reserved for veterans and service members

Oregon sets aside one day each year on which only veterans and service members on federal active duty may hunt waterfowl. You need your usual licenses and validations, and you have to carry proof of your veteran or active duty status while hunting. For more information call 503-947-6101.

How to apply

There is nothing to apply for beyond your normal licenses. Check the ODFW waterfowl regulations for the designated date and hunt that day with your proof of status on you.

What you'll need

Proof that you are a veteran or on active duty, such as a DD214 or military ID, plus your usual Oregon hunting license, tags and validations.

Eligibility

  • You are a veteran, or you are serving in an active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces on federal active duty other than for training
  • You carry proof of your veteran or active duty status while hunting
  • You hold all the usual Oregon licenses and validations for waterfowl hunting
