As a Kentucky state employee married to a service member, you get one paid day off when your service member deploys and one paid day off when they return. Your service member can be in an active or reserve component, but the deployment has to be a federal active duty deployment.

Request the paid day off from your agency’s human resources office and give them your service member’s deployment orders.

What you'll need

Your service member’s federal active duty deployment orders and proof of your marriage.

Eligibility

  • You are a Kentucky state employee
  • You are the spouse of a service member in an active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • Your service member is deploying on, or returning from, federal active duty
