As a Mississippi state employee serving in a reserve component, you get 15 working days of paid military leave a year when you are ordered to required military duty, without losing pay, time, annual leave or your efficiency rating. If your duty runs longer than 15 days, you get a leave of absence and the right to be reemployed.
Give your agency’s human resources office a copy of your military orders and request military leave before you go.
