Pennsylvania counties pay a burial allowance for eligible veterans and their surviving spouses. The amount varies from county to county, and the allowance is paid whether the person died in the county or was buried there.
Contact the County Director of Veterans Affairs where the veteran lived, not the state, and apply within one year of the date of death.
The veteran's DD214 or other discharge paperwork, the death certificate, the funeral bill, and a marriage certificate if you are claiming for a surviving spouse.
