Workers’ compensation benefits for line of duty injury, disability or death

If you are injured, become disabled or die in the line of duty while serving on state active duty or other state military duty with the Pennsylvania National Guard, you are covered for benefits and compensation through the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Compensation is not paid where similar benefits are available under federal law or regulation.

Report the injury through your chain of command and file a claim with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.

What you'll need

Your state active duty orders, a line of duty determination, and your medical records for the injury or illness.

Eligibility

  • You are a Pennsylvania National Guard service member, or the survivor of one
  • You were injured, became disabled or died in the line of duty while serving on state active duty or other state military duty
  • You are not already receiving similar benefits under federal law or regulation
