Permissive Veterans Preference for Minnesota Veterans in Private Employment

Private employers in Minnesota, authorized under state law
Employers may lawfully prefer veterans in hiring and promotion

Minnesota law lets a private, non-public employer grant a preference in hiring and promotion to a veteran. The same allowance covers the spouse of a veteran who has a service-connected total and permanent disability, and the surviving spouse of a deceased veteran.
