Rainbow Division Veterans Foundation (RDVF) Scholarship Program

Rainbow Division Veterans Foundation
$500 to $5,000 depending on available funding

Undergraduate scholarships of between $500 and $5,000, depending on available funding, go to soldiers assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division and to descendants of Rainbow Division Veterans Foundation members. Immediate Gold Star family members of a 42nd Infantry Division soldier who died in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom or a more recent named operation are also eligible.

How to apply

Complete the scholarship application and email it to 42IDscholars@gmail.com, or mail it to Scholarship Chair, 18 Columbine Avenue, South Glens Falls, NY 12803. Applications open on 1 March and must be postmarked by 15 July. For help, email 42IDscholars@gmail.com or call 518-409-0610.

What you'll need

A letter of nomination from your sponsor, official high school transcripts and college transcripts if you have them, SAT or ACT scores, two letters of recommendation (one from a school representative and one general character reference), and an essay on one of the topics listed in the application instructions.

Eligibility

  • You are a soldier currently assigned to the 42nd Infantry Division in good standing, a descendant of a current RDVF veteran or legacy member, or an immediate Gold Star family member of a soldier who died serving in the 42nd Infantry Division in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom or a more recent named operation
  • You are sponsored by a current RDVF veteran or legacy member who is a paid-up lifetime member before the date of application
  • You are pursuing undergraduate study
