Renewing, Extending or Replacing a Kansas Driver's License from Outside Kansas

While you are stationed outside Kansas you can renew your Kansas driver's license, replace it, or get a six month extension by mail or email instead of coming home. Dependents stationed with you can do the same.

Complete the Kansas Department of Revenue Credential Request for Kansas Residents Temporarily Out of State and submit it as the form directs. The form lists the fee and the documents you need.

The completed credential request, the fee listed on it, and the documentation the form requires, including proof you are stationed outside Kansas.

Eligibility

  • You are a Kansas resident serving on active duty and stationed outside Kansas, or you are the dependent of one
  • You need to renew, replace or extend your Kansas driver's license
