Request Kansas Resident Military Records

Copies of your Kansas-held military service records

Kansas keeps military service files for veterans who listed Kansas as their home of record. The Kansas Adjutant General's Department Archives Office holds DD214s for all branches from 1946 to 1991, World War II statements of service from 1941 to 1946, and Kansas National Guard records from 1946 to the present. Requests usually take about two weeks.

How to apply

Email a completed Standard Form 180 to ng.ks.ksarng.list.retirement-services@army.mil or fax it to 785-646-0191. For a discharge after 1991, contact the Kansas Office of Veterans Services at 785-296-3976. To reach the Military Archives directly, call 785-646-0134.

What you'll need

A completed Standard Form 180 with the veteran's service details, and your photo ID.

Eligibility

  • You listed Kansas as your home of record when you were released from the U.S. Armed Forces, or you are requesting the record of a veteran who did
  • You are requesting a DD214 from 1946 to 1991, a World War II statement of service from 1941 to 1946, or a Kansas National Guard record from 1946 to the present
