Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training
No-cost employment services with priority of service

Rhode Island Career Centers give veterans and eligible spouses priority of service, which means first access to Workforce Investment Act employment, training and placement services and preferred registration when enrollment is limited. Services include job search help and online job listings, career counseling, coaching on job search skills, workshops, computers, reference materials, resume software and economic data, and networking groups.

What you'll need

Your DD214 to establish veteran status, or documentation of your spouse’s death, total disability or missing status if you are claiming as a spouse.

Eligibility

  • You are looking for employment help in Rhode Island
  • You served in an active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces and were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable, or you are the spouse of a veteran who died from a service-connected disability, is totally disabled from a service-connected disability, or is listed as missing in action, captured or forcibly detained for more than 90 days
