Apply at a Rhode Island DMV location and bring your discharge paperwork and VA documentation of your disability.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge for wartime service, and VA documentation of your disability, specially adapted vehicle grant, 100 percent rating or individual unemployability.

Eligibility

  • You received an honorable discharge for service in the U.S. Armed Forces during a wartime period
  • You lost or lost the use of one or both of your arms, hands, feet or legs, or received a VA grant for a specially adapted vehicle, or have a VA combined service-connected disability rating of 100 percent, or are rated individually unemployable by the VA because of a service-connected disability
