Tuition waived for up to five classes per fall or spring semester

You can have your tuition waived for up to five classes a semester in the fall or spring at the Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College or the University of Rhode Island if you serve in the Rhode Island National Guard. You still pay for books and any required fees. The waiver can be used alongside VA and Department of Defense education benefits.

What you'll need

Proof you are in good standing in the Rhode Island National Guard, your remaining service commitment and discharge date, and your school enrollment information.

Eligibility

You are a Rhode Island National Guard service member pursuing an associate, bachelor’s or master’s degree
You are attending the Community College of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College or the University of Rhode Island
You are in good standing and not flagged for adverse action
You have a one-year military commitment remaining at the end of the semester for every 12 credits you take
Your discharge date is after the end date of your classes
