You can claim temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work and is not meant to be a permanent income. Employers pay the whole cost, and the amount you get depends on how much you worked and earned in the 18 months before you file.
File a claim through the Rhode Island UI Online Claims System, creating an account if you are a new user, or call 401-415-6772, or 866-557-0001 if you are out of state.
Your driver license or state ID number; the names, addresses, phone numbers and employment dates for every employer in the last 18 months; your rate of pay and income from each; your labor union or hiring hall name and local number if you have one; your alien registration number if you are not a U.S. citizen; your DD214 if you served in the past 18 months; an SF8 or SF50 if you were a federal employee in the past 18 months; and the names, Social Security numbers and dates of birth of any dependent children.
