Assisted living and nursing care at the state veterans home in Bristol

You can live at the state veterans home on Mount Hope Bay in Bristol, which provides assisted living and nursing care to Rhode Island war veterans. Care includes comprehensive medical and nursing care, rehabilitation, X-ray, lab, podiatry, dental care, pharmacy services, physical and occupational therapy, social work services, transportation to the Providence VA Medical Center and a VA counselor on site.

What you'll need

Your DD214, medical records from your primary care physician covering at least the previous two years, and copies of any power of attorney or guardianship documents for health care or finances.

Eligibility

You received an honorable discharge after at least 90 days of active duty service in the U.S. Armed Forces during wartime
You have been a Rhode Island resident for the two consecutive years before the date of your application, or you entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Rhode Island
