Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Preference for Michigan State Contracts

Up to a 10% pricing preference on state bids

Your service-disabled veteran-owned business can receive up to a 10% pricing preference when bidding on State of Michigan projects. The preference applies to both requests for quotes and requests for proposals.

How to apply

Michigan does not pre-certify businesses. Indicate in your bid response that your company is a service-disabled veteran-owned business and attach the required documentation. For more information call 517-388-6012.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or equivalent showing service and type of discharge, proof of your service-connected disability (your DD214 if the disability was documented at discharge, otherwise a VA Benefit Summary Letter), and proof of business ownership or certification from the National Veterans Business Development Council.

Eligibility

  • You own a business bidding on a State of Michigan contract
  • You are a veteran with a service-connected disability
  • You state in your bid response that your company is a service-disabled veteran-owned business
  • You can document your service and disability, and either your business ownership or certification as a service-disabled veteran-owned business by the National Veterans Business Development Council
