South Dakota Driver’s License Extension for Service Members and their Dependents

South Dakota Department of Public Safety, Driver Licensing Program
License remains valid throughout your service and for 90 days after you return or separate

Your South Dakota driver’s license stays valid past its printed expiration date while you are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces and living outside the state. It stays valid for up to 90 days after you come back to South Dakota or separate from the service. Dependents of resident service members get the same extension.
