Mail your completed application, a copy of the service member’s DD214 or NGB22, documentation verifying dependency and the death certificate to the South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs, 425 E. Capitol Avenue, Pierre, SD 57501.

Eligibility

  • You are a South Dakota resident
  • You are under age 25
  • You are the child of a service member who died while serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • The service member was a South Dakota resident for at least six months before entering the U.S. Armed Forces
