What you'll need

The completed veteran and active duty military license plate application and affidavit, your South Dakota driver’s license or ID card, and your DD214 or military ID as proof of service.

Eligibility

  • You are a South Dakota resident
  • You hold a South Dakota driver’s license or ID card
  • You are an honorably discharged veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, or you are currently serving on active duty
