You are covered for medical care and compensation under Tennessee workers’ compensation law if you are injured, become ill, become disabled or die while serving on state active duty or during authorized training with the Tennessee National Guard.

How to apply

Report the injury or illness through your chain of command and file a workers’ compensation claim through the Tennessee Military Department. Survivors should contact the Tennessee Military Department to file for death benefits.

What you'll need

Your state active duty or training orders, a line of duty determination, your medical records for the injury or illness, and for a death claim the death certificate and proof of your relationship to the service member.

Eligibility

  • You are a Tennessee National Guard service member, or the survivor of one
  • Your injury, illness, disability or the service member’s death happened while serving on state active duty or during authorized training
