Long-term and skilled nursing care at five state homes, with a sixth opening

You can get long-term care, skilled nursing care, and rehabilitation and therapy services at five state veterans’ homes: Murfreesboro (140 beds), W.D. "Bill" Manning in Humboldt (140 beds), Senator Ben Atchley in Knoxville (140 beds), Brigadier General Wendell H. Gilbert in Clarksville (108 beds) and Cleveland (108 beds). A sixth home in Arlington with 126 beds is scheduled to open soon. Each home offers individualized care plans, modern amenities and a full calendar of daily activities.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge from active duty, medical documentation that you need skilled nursing care, and proof of your Tennessee connection such as residency, birth in Tennessee, or a Tennessee home of record.

Eligibility

  • You received an honorable discharge from active duty service in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You require skilled nursing care
  • You are a Tennessee resident at the time of admission, were born in Tennessee, entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Tennessee, have a Tennessee address as the official home of record on your military record, or have an immediate family member who is your primary caregiver and is a Tennessee resident
