Texas Army Disabled Veteran License Plate

Local Texas county tax assessor-collector office, for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles
Disabled Veteran plate, with optional International Symbol of Access

You can get a Texas Army Disabled Veteran license plate if you are an honorably discharged Army veteran with a service-connected VA disability rating of 50 percent or more, or 40 percent because of a lower extremity amputation. The plate can be personalized.

How to apply

Submit the Texas DMV Application for Disabled Veterans License Plates and/or Parking Placard to your local county tax assessor-collector office. If you have mobility problems and want the International Symbol of Access on the plate, a medical professional has to sign page three of the application in front of a notary.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing an honorable discharge from the Army, your VA rating documentation, and a notarized medical signature on page three if you want the International Symbol of Access.

Eligibility

  • You are registering a vehicle in Texas
  • You are an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran
  • You have a service-connected VA disability rating of 50 percent or more, or 40 percent because of a lower extremity amputation
