Texas High School Diplomas for Wartime Veterans

High school diploma issued by your school district

A Texas school district will issue you a high school diploma if you left school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. The diploma can also be requested after a veteran has died.

How to apply

Submit the Texas Application for High School Diplomas for Certain Veterans to the Texas school district where you were last enrolled. If that district no longer exists, send it to the district it was consolidated into. For help, call the Texas Education Agency Division of Curriculum at 512-463-9581.

What you'll need

A copy of your DD214, Enlisted Record and Report of Separation, or Discharge Certificate, and the completed application.

Eligibility

  • You were honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You were scheduled to graduate from high school after 1940 and before 1975, or after 1989
  • You left school after finishing 6th grade or higher but before graduating, to serve in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, the Iraq War, the Afghan War, or another formally declared war or military engagement
